Protective regime is the situation in which an administrator takes care of your financial affairs. This happens if someone is (temporarily) unable to do this themselves due to physical and / or psychological problems, or if there are problematic debts.
Why is protection regime used?
Conservation rule aims to protect the property of someone from abuse, or ignorance of that person or others. The protection administrator is responsible for the proper management of finances.
Who is protection regime intended for?
If someone is (temporarily) unable to arrange their own finances due to physical or psychological problems, a protection regime can be called in. Protection rule can also be imposed if there are problematic debts.
What are the consequences?
The protection administrator takes care of the client's finances, but he does not do this alone. For large expenses, he needs permission from the customer or the subdistrict court. The protection administrator is also accountable annually to the customer and the subdistrict court.
Conservation rule is voluntary but not without obligation. If the protection regime has to be lifted, this will be done through the Subdistrict Court. The Subdistrict Court will lift the protection regime if the reasons for the regime are no longer present.
