Onward Mobility has reportedly lost its license to use the BlackBerry name

Maybe it’s time for Unihertz to step in and take the name? They already make the shiny Titan, the closest new phone to a classic BB.

Someone should buy the name and start a fruit business.
They will make more profit than Blackberry phones

I was looking forward to having a blackberry
But of course, another setback…..YOU KILL US!!!

Why Google, 11 hours agoLmao! Still, iPhone sales are higher than the folds and year-over-year growth doesn’t stop for Apple… moreThis is not an answer 😁
I guess that’s true with the fold, although I really don’t care, it’s just a phone and a brand.

I’d really rather buy a car, phone, etc. because of my needs and because I like it. Bjt I would never buy certain things, only because they sell more than others.

Very disappointing, I hung on to my BlackBerry Key2 which fails in many ways including its very outdated Android OS…hoping Onward Mobility will deliver on its promise.
I should have known better, the world has moved on and it looks like I should too. I will miss the physical keyboard like crazy. I can’t type with precision or speed on my wife’s Samsung phone with virtual keyboard, it’s driving me crazy!
But hey, at least people won’t look at me like I’m an alien when they see me using a Blackberry. It really has become the equivalent of the fax machine or the audio cassette! Bye bye Blackberry, thanks for the good times, here I am in the 21st century.

You need to sell your first 5g phone under Rs 15000k so that you can attract customers to your new phones.

BlackBerry RIP. it’s such a shame that BlackBerry has pulled out of the smartphone industry. Before long, BlackBerry phones will be forgotten for good.

BlackBerry should be ashamed of themselves.
Once an iconic company, System 7 is still the best email client and the best keyboard.
Not everyone wants to press a colored button with Like or Follow with Pavlovian excitement.
They couldn’t even bother to offer a software update to make it work without BIS
I go back as far as the 857, as do a lot of people.
BlackBerry thanks its loyal customers by pulling the plug.
Terrible indictment of the world we live in.

Samsung has always been seen as a brand for the poor.

Anonymous, 17 hours agoThen Apple Apple isn’t a phone anymore, it’s more like a status symbol
Iphone is still a phone for people who use it as such, some don’t care.
And Apple was never a phone, they were always a company.
I never show my iphone, it’s in a bag most of the time, only taken out when needed…with the horrible apple logo covered in a case.
But I still love my iPhone before people think I’m bashing it… but to me it’s a tool, not a status symbol.

Even BMW was a status symbol for some, but for others they were just a vehicle.
Gold jewelry is meant to be a status symbol, but almost anyone, from any background, can own gold…it’s just the way you look at it.

Being able to get out and enjoy the fresh air…is my status symbol…that I’m alive

Apple is not a phone?
And because iPhones are a status symbol for some, will they cease to exist?

Great analysis!

News flash: next year, all people will turn into Buddhas and throw all their excellent iPhones in the trash, because it could also be a status symbol. ROFL

It’s unclear what would stop Onward Mobility from releasing a midrange Android PKB.

He won’t use the Blackberry name, so what.
Kevin knows as little as you and I do and is clearly trying to add more lifetime subscribers to his sinking ship.

Let’s listen to Adam etc. who at least signed the NDA!
